Bambu Huts Haad Yuan

Bambu Huts Koh Phangan – Sunday Sessions on Haad Yuan Beach
Haad Yuan doesn’t have a road. You get there by boat, and that already tells you something. The beach is quiet, the water is turquoise, and the granite boulders sit in the jungle like they were placed. Every Sunday, Bambu Huts turns this hidden corner of Koh Phangan into the island’s most intimate day-to-night party. No mass crowds. No neon wristbands. Just deep music, a jungle dancefloor, and an ocean backdrop that moves with you.
About Bambu Huts
Bambu Huts is a boutique bamboo resort and bar on Haad Yuan beach — a secluded cove on the eastern coast of Koh Phangan, accessible only by boat. The venue has been part of the island’s underground scene for years, known less for big-name bookings and more for the rare thing those are hard to manufacture: a genuinely good vibe.
The space runs with a jungle aesthetic — bamboo structures, open-air dancefloors, a pool, fire pits, and a market area that activates on Sundays. It operates as a guesthouse and restaurant year-round, but the Sunday Session is what put it on the map.

The Sunday Session
Every Sunday, Bambu Huts hosts its weekly day-to-night party — one of the most beloved recurring events on the island.
It starts easy in the early afternoon — house and disco sounds drifting across the beach while people arrive by boat and settle in. As the afternoon deepens, so does the music. Melodic techno and progressive trance take over. By sunset, the main jungle floor is fully alive: deep house, indie dance, tribal grooves, live percussion, fire shows, and immersive lights cutting through the tree canopy.
Schedule: Sunday, 12:00 PM – 2:00 AM 🕑 Rotating international guests and island residents — lineup changes weekly

One of the few proper weekly parties on the island with free early entry — arrive early, stay all day.
Music
The Bambu Huts sound moves through the day in a deliberate arc:
Early afternoon (1–4 PM): House, disco, warm organic sounds — the easing-in hour. Golden hour (4–7 PM): Melodic techno, progressive trance, deeper frequencies as the light changes. Night (7 PM–1 AM): Deep house, indie dance, tribal grooves — the main jungle floor in full swing, with live percussion and fire shows added to the mix.
The main jungle floor is the heart of the venue — open air, no ceiling, surrounded by tropical forest with a sound system tuned to the space.
How to Get There
Haad Yuan beach is only accessible by boat. There is no road.
Taxi boats from Haad Rin Pier run back and forth throughout the event day — no fixed schedule, they leave when full. The crossing takes around 10–15 minutes. Boats run in both directions for the full duration of the event.
From other parts of the island: Make your way to Haad Rin and catch a taxi boat from the pier. Your guesthouse or any local songthaew can get you to Haad Rin.
Getting back: Taxi boats continue operating until the end of the party. No need to leave early — the return crossing runs as long as the music does.

What to Expect: Tips for First-Timers
Take the early boat. The cheap entry before 2 PM is a real incentive, but more importantly, arriving in the early afternoon gives you time to settle on the beach, swim, and ease into the day before the dancefloor gets serious.
Bring cash. Haad Yuan is remote. There are no ATMs on the beach — bring what you need for the day.
Plan to stay the full day. This isn’t a 3-hour event. The arc from afternoon house to late-night deep grooves is the experience — arriving at 9 PM misses the point.
Book accommodation if you want to sleep on-site. Bambu Huts has bungalows on the beach. Waking up on Haad Yuan the morning after a Sunday session is a different kind of luxury.
No photos on the dancefloor — like Eden Garden, parts of the venue observe a no-camera policy. Respect the vibe.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Bambu Huts really only accessible by boat? Yes. Haad Yuan beach has no road access. The only way to get there is by taxi boat from Haad Rin Pier. This is part of what keeps the crowd self-selected and the vibe intact.
What time should I arrive? Early — ideally between 1 and 3 PM to catch the free entry and the full arc of the day. Most regulars arrive early and treat it as a full-day beach experience, not just a party.
Is it family-friendly? During the early afternoon, yes. By evening it’s a proper nightlife venue. Children are generally not present at the night portion of the event.
Can I stay overnight at Bambu Huts? Yes — Bambu Huts operates as a guesthouse with bamboo bungalows on the beach. Staying on-site is the best way to experience the full Sunday and avoid the last-boat rush.
What should I bring? Cash (no ATMs), swimwear, a light layer for the evening, and comfortable shoes for the dancefloor. Leave the valuables at your accommodation.
Is the Sunday Session on every week, even during low season? The Sunday Session runs year-round, though the energy and crowd size peaks in high season (November–April). It’s worth checking the event calendar for confirmed dates before travelling specifically for it.
